Fred Siggins


Fred’s synonymous with Australia’s most decorated cocktail bar. His time at the famous Black Pearl in Melbourne coincided with it being regularly celebrated internationally, culminating in winning the Best International High Volume Cocktail Bar at the Spirited Awards in at Tales Of The Cocktail in 2015.

Fred began his career as a chef where his mastery of flavour combinations allowed him to later manage both the food and beverage programmes at venues such as Belle Epoque and the much celebrated Kodiak Club.

Adding more strings to his bow with successful stints as the Brand Ambassador for Jose Cuervo he found time to compliment his work at The Black Pearl with contributions to various publications as a writer of some repute. He has been published both domestically and internationally in publications as diverse as The Age, Punch, Time Out & Creative Loafing in the United States.

Alongside these achievements, Fred owns and operates a bar consultancy called Pith & Vinegar which focuses on whisky appreciation, training, events management, cocktail creation and business model development.

As a jack of all trades and a master of most of them, Fred is well placed to offer his experience and advice as part of our FDM team of educators.
