FDM Profiles: Steven Prasad

Steven Prasad

Steve has enjoyed a long and successful career to date, featuring in many of Queensland’s best and most notorious cocktail bars and venues. From bartending to management, training and events, Steve has become a well respected professional and his knowledge is evident in all his work.

Steve has been instrumental in the progression of quality and standards of service in the state and is recognised as one of the country’s top bartending talents.

 A  great presenter Steve hosts many education and tasting events throughout Queensland which is why SouthTrade is pleased to have Steve as part of its National Ambassadors department.

His passion for Australian Craft Spirits makes him the perfect fit to educate and engage both our trade partners and consumers alike.

 

FDM caught up with Steve to ask him a few questions:

 

FDM: What is your most memorable shift at a bar?

Steve: Working at the Bowery on Jazz night, and Mumford & Sons walked in and started jamming with out house band!

 

FDM: What’s your favourite thing about working in the drinks industry?

Steve: Meeting so many diverse people and hopefully educating them in some way

 

FDM: If you weren’t working in the spirits industry, where would you be working?

Steve: I would be playing sport somewhere or be in the fitness industry.

 

FDM: What’s your spirit animal?

Steve: Buffalo

 

FDM: What’s your favourite Southtrade product?

Steve: Sazerac Rye

 

FDM: What advice do you have for someone just starting in the drinks industry?

Steve: Ask questions, don’t think any questions are silly, and if you have the chance to go to trainings or tastings make it a priority!
